The folks over at BGR are claiming that an AT&T Vice President has told several employees that the iPhone 5 is set to see a States-side release sometime in early October. The same VP reportedly also told a group of managers to “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare teams accordingly.”
The news is really no surprise, as a late-September/early-October release has been expected for some time now, especially considering that we’ll be seeing the release of both iOS 5 and iCloud around that time as well.
Although noone knows for sure just yet what the iPhone 5 will look like, it’s expected to have a dual-core CPU (at least 1GHz but probably more), 1GB of RAM, a larger display, an 8MP camera and come running on iOS5.
We’ll be expecting an official iPhone 5 announcement around the end of September, assuming that everything goes to plan. So until then stay tuned for more info as it rolls out.
