Samsung Galaxy Ace Reviews

Average Score:

"And, speaking of full marks, that’s exactly what we think the Samsung Galaxy Mega deserves. We love its enormous screen experience even if it does come across something of a Peter Crouch among mobile phones. It’s as good as a tablet for watching films and browsing the web and it still fits in the average trouser pocket. What really blows us away, though, is that you can pick up a Mega for a fraction of the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4..." 5/5 Stars

"A smart design, colourful screen and decent camera make the Ace an attractive phone, but it has limited room for apps..." 4/5 Stars

"The lack of Flash is a major disappointment, but the Ace still has plenty of features to buoy our spirits." 4/5 Stars

"The Samsung Galaxy Ace's 3.5in capacitive touchscreen is responsive to touch, but its low resolution of 320x480 means it isn't as crisp or clear as more expensive phones, particularly when displaying text. The screen is also tough to see in direct sunlight and although it's bright at full volume, the lack of an ambient light sensor is an annoyance." 3.5/5 Stars

"Battery life is average, but surpasses many of the high-end devices because you’re not drawing so heavily on the 1350mAh battery." 3.5/5 Stars

"The screen is a standard (no fancy S-AMOLED or IPS) 3.5" HVGA display. If you've seen the old iPhone's display, you've seen the Galaxy Ace display. It has no problems with brightness or contrast, even outside, but the 320x480 display does lack the crispness seen on higher resolution displays."

"Sleek, stylish and well finished to the eye, in the hand the Samsung Galaxy Ace is - despite its budget plastic construction and weight-saving efforts - a surprisingly reassuring offering, with little flex when put under pressure." 3.5/5 Stars

"As a phone, the voice call quality was loud and clear, and the speakerphone mode was sufficiently audible when used in a car. Text messaging, however, still feels like a chore on the phone's virtual Qwerty keyboard because of the keys that are placed too close together. "

"...it is capable of recording video in a 320 x 240 resolution, no HD here unfortunately, and this is one of the cameras weak points, the video recording isn’t the best, but I suppose this can be forgiven for the price."

"The Ace looks and feels good, and executes the basics with ease, but we expect a lot more from a phone at this price point." 6.5/10
