Nokia Lumia 610 Reviews

"Much like the pricier Lumias, the 610 fires photos quickly, even when the phone is locked. From pocket to photo, the time wouldn't be more than three seconds, and the camera's auto-focus does a fine job of acting quickly under pressure. The images produced by this camera in our tests have been superb, with great colour, awesome management of mixed lighting temperatures and good, sharp focus. " 9/10

"The handset delivers a stunning OS, good phone functionality and a healthy battery life all packaged within an acceptable design. It never once feels like a dumbphone trying to play smart -- it's smart to its core and will deliver all the communication and productivity benefits that you could want in this category."

"The phone's basic functions still work beautifully; pages may take longer to load in the Lumia 610's browser, but scrolling around them and zooming in and out is smooth. There's nothing wrong with core apps such as the email client and calendar, even if there is a very slight hesitation when closing them to go back to the home screen. The problem is that Windows Phone 7 devices are meant to give a consistent experience, and it’s a shame to have that experience stymied by your phone's lack of resources. " 4/5 Stars

"The volume and lock buttons are well positioned and provide good tactility, but the camera button feels a little wobbly and doesn't offer very good feedback. Below the display are the standard array of Windows Phone capacitive keys, back, home and search. The keys are both responsive and backlit." 3.8/5 Stars

"We have definitely heard better earpieces than the one on the Lumia 610, but this one gets the job done as well. Voices come through it undistorted, but we wish they were a bit louder. That secondary microphone comes in handy by reducing background noises noticeably, but as a result, our voice sounds quite artificial on the other side of the line. " 7/10

"With a 3.7in screen and 5MP camera, several specs haven't been cut down too obviously, but the 800MHz processor, 256MB RAM and 8GB of storage do have an impact. " 3.5/5 Stars

"There are some processing power/memory issues. For example, it was recently revealed that the 610 can’t run a number of high-performance mobile apps such as the popular Angry Birds Game, IP telephony software Skype, and a few others. Is this a big deal? It depends on your usage. I would definitely find it to be an issue, but then I’m a high-performance user of smartphones and tend to use them to their full capacity."

"The 3.7-inch screen is just a little bit larger than the screen of the iPhone, which is 3.5 inches and already considered small! Unfortunately this is not Nokia’s best screen, not the ClearBlack AMOLED found on the Lumia 900 and Lumia 800 phones. Instead, the Finnish manufacturer went with a lower-end screen which doesn’t disappoint at all. Color reproduction is good, contrast levels are normal and the overall color temperature is a little bit warm." 6.3/10

"Nokia claims you'll get 9.5 hours of 3G talk time out of the Lumia 610 as well as a whopping 720 hours of 3G standby time. The reality is that on medium brightness I managed a full day of moderate use (push email, surfing, Twitter, and a few calls) and had just over 40 percent life left. I have used a variety of Windows Phones and most struggle to last a full day of high use so I was impressed to see such a high amount of battery life left at the end of an average day. I'd doubt this will last you an entire weekend away, but it's certainly sufficient for more than a day away from a charger." 6.1/10

"The sides have a metallic gleam to them but it's never likely to be mistaken for real metal, and the illusion is lost altogether once you actually hold the phone, which feels plastic through and through." 3/5 Stars

"Call quality is fine: nothing to exclaim about, but nothing to complain over, either. Audio quality in music, videos and games is great with the included headphones, and if you use the speakers, it's the usual ‘tinny but listenable'." 3/5 Stars
