"Making a decision between a flagship smartphone and something of slightly lesser quality has never been easy, but if you don’t want a taste of Windows Phone and desire 4G without the heavy weight of the Lumia 920, this is an option." 4.5/5 Stars

"Agreed it isn’t the flagship and agreed the camera isn't nearly anywhere as good as on the 920, but this is a phone you'll be happy to use, a phone you'll enjoy using, and besides a lack of third-party apps at the moment, a phone that for many people will be a fantastic phone they will enjoy for the next two years." 4.5/5 Stars

"It’s pretty safe to say that we were big fans of the Nokia Lumia 820. Not only is the new Windows Phone 8 experience a great step forwards for Windows Phone, but the Lumia 820 manages to deliver a solid, quality offering despite only being a mid-range device." 82/100

"We were hugely impressed with the Lumia 920's video capture which, thanks to the image stabilisation, was rock-steady even when we were walking around - there was barely a wobble even when we strapped the phone to a vibrating table. " 4/5 Stars

"One area where the Lumia smartphones have always stood out is performance and, even with the odd 'resuming' moment when jumping from one app to another, the Lumia 820 is rapid. Windows Phone 8 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 are a match made in heaven, resulting in very quick loading, the smoothest transitions and a home screen that glides along. The impatient smartphone user will find the Lumia 820 quite refreshing." 4/5 Stars

"An interesting feature of the Lumia 820's display is its ability to become super-sensitive. With this option activated, you can easily use your handset even when wearing gloves. We tested it and it works flawlessly. It is such kind of attention to detail that defines the quality of the user experience with a smartphone." 4/5 Stars

"Good news is, when you're actually on the phone the volume and clarity of the call are both perfectly acceptable. We could clearly hear the other person on the end of the line and likewise didn't experience any problems speaking to them." 4/5 Stars

"...while the screen resolution of the Lumia 820 isn’t fantastic, it still features a lovely vibrant and rich experience. You can definitely see the difference in pixel density between this model and others if you look closely, but it’s not as huge a problem as many people probably think."
