"A device trying to redefine classic, the Nokia C5 is very well built and packs the smartphone punch. Take away the voice-guidance charges and it goes for pennies really. Adding Wi-Fi to the mix would have made it an excellent package, but alas, we're in no luck on that. Besides, web browsing on a small screen isn't great anyway."

"The screen is, however, the only disappointing aspect relating to the outer look of the device. All buttons are exceptionally well-made, large enough, have proper travel and provide pronounced feedback when pressed. Typing away on the keyboard of the Nokia C5 is as easy as ABC and frankly, the only thing that could have made us happier would have been the presence of QWERTY keyboard." 8/10

"...aimed at the low-end smartphone market with an "emphasis on social interaction" the C5 boasts a new phone book feature which will allow you to see your contacts' Facebook updates alongside the rest of their info, and the ability to place your three favourite contacts on your homescreen for speedy calling and texting."

"Music connoisseurs can rejoice - thanks to the 3.5mm headphone jack the phone comes with. As mentioned earlier, the phone is fully social networking ready - right out of the box. It comes with Facebook and MySpace widgets right on the homescreen."

"As with all new Nokia phones, the C5 comes with A-GPS and Nokia Maps 3.0 including full turn-by-turn navigation. Even with all this hardware Nokia is still estimating 12 hours of talk-time and up to 630 hours of standby in 3G mode; an impressive feature for such a basic phone." 7.7/10

"The battery life is probably good enough for most business users, with a shade under 5 hours talktime on 3G, 12 hours on GSM and up to 28 days standby time."

"The ringtone volume is enough for the majority of situations, but its sound is not very clear. The same can be said about the performance of the speaker during the talk. There is a bit of vibration and the sound is not clear enough."

"It does, however, come with Nokia Messaging baked in as well as GPS with free Ovi Maps turn-by-turn navigation making it a heck of a featurephone for the price."

"Nokia’s Symbian-powered C5 smartphone runs Symbian S60v3, so fits in with the manufacturer’s stated plan to continue using the smartphone operating system in its mid-range phones."

"...the Nokia C5 is a mid-range smartphone that doesn't stray too far from the norm. This relatively inexpensive mobile phone won't appeal to business users or those who are interested in the latest and greatest touchscreen smartphones, but its updated phonebook, free turn-by-turn navigation and access to Nokia's Ovi application store mean that it offers decent value." 3.3/5 Stars

"The winning app on the Nokia C5 has to be Ovi Maps, which works hand-in-hand with the built-in GPS receiver. With free turn-by-turn navigation and a whole slew of maps to download, you can use the C5 for getting about with ease. " 3/5

"The camera is fine for basic pictures of friends but isn't by any means the best camera out there. There aren't any effect options like negative or sepia but the C5 isn't being sold on it's imaging capabilities so we can overlook this." 3/5
