"Having 4G makes the XL sing. Browsing the web, watching YouTube videos or interacting in pretty much any online way is superb. Battery life is just as good as the One X due to the lower-powered processor. With heavy usage you’ll struggle to make it through a full day, but that can be said of most smartphones these days." 9.5/10

"Its touchscreen is large, vivid and eye-catching, and the way it and the touch-sensitive dedicated buttons interacts with the users’ fingertips was simply delightful, reflecting the fact that hardware and software synthesis on the Android platform has come a long way over the past two years."

"There’s also another thing the HTC One XL has going for it, and that’s Blue Tick certification, an acknowledgement that this phone can be used in rural areas. This is a fairly important point, as few smartphones released in Australia are certified for performance outside the city." 4.5/5 Stars

"At its peak the HTC One XL is blazingly fast. It regularly achieved download speeds of up to 28 megabits per second (Mbps) in North Sydney, though it usually hovered around 25Mbps in our offices. " 4.5/5 Stars

"We particularly like the way the screen isn't just plonked into the chassis but rather has a contoured black housing, giving a stepped appearance to its shape and allowing a very narrow bezel around the outside to keep things looking sleek and ultra-modern."

"The camera is really good, HTC’s lightweight approach to HTC Sense sitting on top of Ice Cream Sandwich works exceptionally well, and things zip along at a very nice pace on the One XL’s bright and clear display screen."

"...the display is superb, the design is awesome and the amount of camera features is mind-boggling. Of course the downsides to the device like Sense 4.0 still stay as well, but that doesn't detract too much from the overall quality of this flagship smartphone." 8.5/10

"The HTC One XL is every bit as good in looks as the One X and nearly as good in terms of power. For an Android user looking to make the shift to LTE, this is the device to own."

"What we can say with some surety is that the One XL has slightly better battery life than the One X, but it's a long way off the Galaxy S3. In our heavy duty battery tests, the One XL delivered between 30 and 60 minutes extra power, compared with the One X. " 8.5/10

"We like pretty much everything about the HTC One XL. It provided more than enough battery life to get me through the average use in a day — something a lot of phone nowadays can’t achieve. The battery life was much better than that of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Camera performance blew nearly every phone (except for the Galaxy S II) out of the water with its vibrant colouring, even in low-light situations. "

"Video watching and web browsing on the XL is a fluid and impressive experience. Battery life was broadly similar to the One X - meaning there was barely anything left after our 24 hour tests - but the One X probably had the edge here, thanks to the battery sucking LTE chip the XL is packing." 5/6 Stars

"’s 4G that’s going to be the drawcard with the HTC One XL with the added network speed making it easier and faster to browse the web and upload and download files in 4G areas." 4/5 Stars

"LTE is naturally a talking point, but it's the One XL's slimline design that will turn heads. It sports a generous 4.7-inch display, continuing HTC's longstanding love affair with excessive screen real estate. Yet despite this excess, the handset is pleasing to both the eye and the touch thanks to the slightly curved, slimline design. "

"We do have some issues with the One XL, indeed with the One X also. Neither has a microSD card slot nor removable batteries, unlike the S3. It's inexplicable that HTC didn't include the ability to increase storage by up to 32GB with a microSD card in their top-of-range model. It's a blunder."
