"The absence of removable storage, it turns out, is the phone’s major fault – one among a huge range of successes on a decidedly attractive handset." 5/5 stars

"The Google Nexus S is the first phone to run the latest version of Android, 2.3 Gingerbread, and it does so without any manufacturer’s software overlay marring the experience and delaying future updates. This is A Good Thing." 5/5 stars

"Of course it isn’t flat, with marketeers jumping on the “Contour Display” as a practical enhancement. Does it fit your face better? Perhaps. Does it make any difference in daily use? Probably not. But that’s the thing about interesting design - it doesn’t have to fulfil a practical purpose - looking good is good enough. And look good the Nexus S does." 4.5/5 stars

" ...the Web browser in Android 2.3 seems faster than ever, and it rivals the speed of the iPhone 4's browser. The Web pages we tested loaded quickly and accurately, and you get the bonus of Flash Player 10.1 support, so you can see every website just as it was designed to look." 4.5/5 stars

"The camera on the Google Nexus S has come in for some slight criticism, with some detractors calling it underpowered and feature-light. While the specs do support this theory, the only slight problem we encountered with it was the slightly longer shutter speed and autofocus (and a tap to focus feature would have been nice too)." 4/5 stars

"The Samsung Nexus S gets points for its slick design, satisfying performance, and authentic Android user interface. But outside of the new Gingerbread OS and a faster processor, it doesn't offer as many new features as we had hoped." 4/5 stars

"At 4in, the Google Nexus S has a larger display than its predecessor, and the super AMOLED screen technology also makes it brighter, clearer and more vibrant than the original model. The Nexus S screen is one of the best on the market and is responsive to touch, as are the four touch-sensitive, backlit buttons below the screen." 3.8/5

"We thought we had moved past this phase with high-end smartphones but here we are again – the Nexus comes with D1 video recording @ 30fps. We’re guessing it’s a software limitation that stops the Google Nexus S from recording 720p HD video, as the internal gadgetry should have enough muscle to do that (the Galaxy S can)."
