Highlights
- 24x7 technical support via phone
BE Broadband offer line rental packages to customers. Alternatively, customers may prefer to pay line rental directly to BT.
Getting Started
Availability
You can check for BE broadband availability and speed in your area by entering a BT phone number into their website. If you don’t have one, you can use a postcode.
Switching Broadband Providers
If switching broadband providers, ask for a MAC key for minimum downtime (this probably won’t be more than two hours). Not all MAC codes are compatible – if this is the case you will have to cancel your contract with your current provider before moving over to BE.
Hardware
A wireless modem (BE Box) is included free of charge for all packages (ADSL 2+ enabled, 4 port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch, 54 Mbps 802.11 b/g wireless interface, OS Independent (Ethernet)). This will need to be returned to BE when you terminate your contract.
Customers can use their own ADSL2+ enabled routers with this service, but support cannot be guaranteed when using them.
Installation
Your BT phone line will be connected up to the BE network 1-2 weeks after you’ve placed your order, sometimes earlier. Once your Be Box arrives, follow the simple DIY instructions to install.
Features
Speed is never artificially reduced to increase capacity for provider.
Technical Support
Free support is available 24/7, 365 days a year via phone, email or live chat. There is also a forum available for members to ask the BE user community for help.
Excess Data Usage
The speed of this broadband plan is not shaped. Unlimited and Pro customers have an unlimited service (subject to a fair usage policy). Value customers have a 40GB data limit; there are no excess data charges, but those who regularly use more than 40GB will have to upgrade to an unlimited package.
Static IPs
Unlimited and Pro customers are able to request 1 static IP address free of charge. Pro customers can purchase up to 16 further static IPs.
Line Bonding
Customers can double their speed by bonding 2 lines at their exchange, giving speeds of up to 44meg download and up to 5meg upload.
This broadband package is subject to the full terms and conditions of the Internet service provider.
